I am a Doctor of Musical Arts with 10 years of teaching experience. I teach classical vocal technique as well as musical theater style singing. I am an active performer with many regional credits in both opera and musical theater productions. I sing with the Chicago Symphony Chorus and the Grant Park Festival Chorus while maintaining a select private studio in my home. I teach Vocal Techniques and Opera Workshop at the Chicago High School for the Arts. My students have attained superior and excellent scores at the CPS Vocal Music Festival and I have helped several singers get into the esteemed Concert Choir at the Chicago Children's Choir. I work with all voice types beginning at age 13+ and am especially good at helping young voices learn to negotiate the tricks of the changing voice.
Voice Lessons help build confidence in yourself as a performer. You will become a stronger performer by learning classical singing technique, the foundation upon which all vocal training is based. You will learn to breathe, stand, and support your sound through exercises and professionally guided lessons. You will build a repertoire of songs from which you can draw for auditions and performances based on your specific needs. I am well versed in both classical and musical theater selections that are appropriate for your age, voice type and vocal ability.
